FCC Holds DTV Workshop for Consumers with Disabilities

FCC holds Digital Television (DTV) consumer education workshop on consumers with disabilities

On February 28, 2008, the FCC held a Digital Television Consumer Education workshop that focused on consumers with disabilities.  The purpose of the workshop was to discuss the challenges associated with ensuring that consumers with disabilities receive accurate and timely information regarding the digital television transition.  The Workshop discussion also explored ways to develop coordinated consumer education activities.  As with past DTV Consumer Education Workshops, the program included demonstrations of digital-to-analog converter boxes by CEA and some of its member companies.

An open-captioned webcast of the hearing is available at the FCC’s website at http://www.fcc.gov/realaudio/#feb28 .  For more information about the Workshop, please contact Pam Slipakoff at (202) 418-7705, pam.slipakoff@fcc.gov, or Lauren Patrich at (202) 418-7944, lauren.patrich@fcc.gov.
