Ambassador Luis Gallegos Visits Shepherd Center

Ambassador Luis Gallegos and his wife Mrs. Fabiola Gallegos toured the Shepherd Center's Assistive Technology department on Friday, November 16, 2007.  The visit included a tour of the entire Shepherd Center facility, as well as demonstrations of various types of assistive technologies designed for Shepherd Center patients.  Also included on the tour was a brief presentation by Lynzee Head, RERC Operations Manager, on the research and development projects of the RERC.  Ambassador Gallegos is the Chairperson of the Ad Hoc Committee on a Comprehensive and Integral International Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Rights and Dignity of Persons with Disabilities, a subsidiary body of the General Assembly of the United Nations charged with the mandate of elaborating an international convention on the rights of persons with disabilities.
