March 2013 — The Federal Communications Commission has convened the First Technology Transitions Policy Task Force Workshop. It was the first of a series of workshops that will focus on transitions to new technologies including: the advancement of network protocols; the implementation of fiber networks replacing copper; and the increased use of wireless in place of wireline services.

February 12, 2013 — The first FCC Technology Transitions Policy Task Force workshop will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013. The Task Force was formed to recommend policies that “empower and protect consumers, promote competition, and ensure network resiliency and reliability.” The workshop will focus on transitions to new technologies including: the advancement of network protocols; the implementation of fiber networks replacing copper; and the increased use of wireless in place of wireline services.

06.18.2012 – The Wireless RERC submitted comments to the Department of Education in response to their notice “In the Matter of National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research; Notice of Proposed Long-Range Plan for Fiscal Years 2013 - 2017” [FR Doc. No. 2012-9365].
