Vicki Haberman
Vicki Haberman is a Research Project Coordinator and a member of the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center for Wireless Technology at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia. A member of the Center since 2002, she has integrated research and design to evaluate and bring attention to the wireless technology needs of individuals with cognitive impairments. Building on this work, Ms. Haberman is currently developing effective vehicles for assessing usability of wireless products by people with disabilities and for sharing the results with wireless consumers, developers, and retailers. She works with members of the wireless industry to provide awareness training and encourage the universal design of future devices and applications.
Ms. Haberman earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design at Georgia Tech. She has remained active in academia through teaching undergraduate courses in the Industrial Design Program at Georgia Tech; coordinating a national student design competition; and pursuing her Ph.D. in the College of Architecture at Georgia Tech. She currently resides in East Atlanta and, in her spare time, enjoys photography, traveling, and spending time with her chocolate lab, Brooke.
